Cold-feed barrel with temperature-control jacket options. Machined in our own Henan workshop — to your drawing, or reverse-engineered from your worn parts.
Cold-feed rubber extrusion depends on keeping the compound inside a narrow temperature window: too cool and it will not flow, too warm and it scorches. The barrel's heating and cooling jacket is what holds that window.
We machine the barrel with the jacket circuit your line needs — water, oil or steam — and bore it for a cold-feed screw profile.

Standard range shown. Every dimension below can be changed to your machine, resin and output — custom manufacturing is our daily business.
| Bore diameter | Ø30–200 mm |
|---|---|
| L/D ratio | 12–20 typical for cold feed |
| Jacket | Water / oil / steam circuits |
| Material | 38CrMoAlA nitrided |
| Zones | Per your line layout |
| Feed | Room-temperature strip or pellet |
| Lead time | 35–45 days |
The honest answer depends on your resin, not on price. Here is how we advise customers.
| Gas Nitrided (38CrMoAlA) | Bimetallic Alloy Lining | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Unfilled PE, PP, PS, ABS, virgin PVC | Glass-filled, mineral-filled, recycled, corrosive |
| Surface hardness | HV 900–1020, depth 0.45–0.7 mm | Alloy layer 2–5 mm, metallurgically bonded |
| Typical service life | Baseline | 3–5× baseline on abrasive resin |
| Cost | Lower | Higher, recovered through fewer stoppages |
| Certification | MTC with heat number | MTC + hardness records, third-party on request |
Water for most compounds, oil where you need higher temperature stability, steam on older lines. Tell us your line and we match it.
Yes — cold-feed screws are a longer, higher-compression design and we build them to match the barrel.
Yes, but say so — silicone needs different clearances and temperature control than carbon-black compounds.
