XPS Screw Barrel for B1 Fire-Retardant Board

B1 flame-retardant packages are corrosive and abrasive at once — they attack a nitrided bore from both directions. Our B1-duty sets use corrosion-resistant barrel linings and a screw profile that keeps the retardant dispersed without overheating it.

Built for producers moving to B1-classified board for export and code compliance. Tell us the retardant system and line and we quote the matched set.

Common Questions

Questions Buyers Ask About This Product

Why does B1 compound eat barrels?

Halogenated retardants release corrosive species at temperature, and the additive package is abrasive — a double attack that nitrided steel loses. A corrosion-resistant lining is the standard answer.

Does the retardant disperse differently?

It needs gentler, longer mixing — the profile differs from standard XPS duty to keep cells fine and classification stable.

Can we switch grades between B1 and standard?

Yes with the right screw; we will ask about your changeover practice when sizing.
